BLANKET the hoot

$5.99

This afghan is graphic and simple to make- just pick two colors and go.
A great accent for any room, whether traditional-country or minimalist-modern. It’s named after a little stone house on our property which we use for family gatherings, and sometimes just as a get-a-way locale.

It’s constructed with motifs made using double-pointed needles (dpns). Stitches are cast-on at the center and the motif is worked to the outer edges. It's a perfect project to take long trips when traveling as the motifs can be worked up quickly and don't require too much space.

When all the motifs are completed, just arrange them in a checkerboard pattern. Them weave them together woven together on the backside to create well-defined front ridges. After all the motifs are assembled, a striped border is worked around the edge with simple crochet. Nothing could be chicer or warmer for a chilly evening by the fire.
